Chris Merle interviews Rich & Michelle Zellich our Fan Guests of Honor. They have many roles supporting Archon 31. Rich’s primary role is as Hotel Liason and Michelle’s is programming.

Show Notes [show length 36:49]

some preliminary report info about Conestoga 11 and a list of upcoming podcasts

We talk about what a SMOF is.

Then we talk about their work on Archon 31/NASFIC/Tuckercon

They aren’t sure how many people will show up, but they would like more. Hotel space is pretty full in Collinsville, IL. Contact Rich to see for room availability.

We talk about how the name Tuckercon got appended to NASFIC (North American Science Fiction Convention). Named in honor of the late great Wilson “Bob” Tucker.

Archon is known as a gaming con and a masquerade.

What to expect at Archon 31

tons of programming

then we jump around because I wasn’t prepared as I should have been.

Michelle runs a club newsletter, The Insider

The Zellich’s used to attend OKon, the previous convention to Conestoga (run by mostly a different bunch of folks).

Rich & Michelle visited the J.M. Davis Gun Museum and the Will Rogers Memorial in Claremore, OK and the Tulsa Air & Space Museum.

back to Archon.

Both have been involved in Archon for a long time. Rich longer than Michelle.

They tell us what keeps them going and volunteering year after year, though they are taking a year off after this con.

Listen for the special announcement about Darrell K. Sweet near the end of the podcast.

Mention some more highlights of what to expect at the con.

Also, you’ll get to vote for the Kansas City in 2009 World con bid (hint hint) among other bids.

Listen for the magic word at the end.
